DAVIDE SGAMBARO

About

Davide Sgambaro (Padua, 1989) is an artist based in Turin. He studied Visual and Performing Arts at IUAV University of Venice and works across installation, sculpture, photography, video, and performance. His practice investigates the contradictions of contemporary precarity, social inequalities, and the cultural pressures surrounding ambition, success, and class mobility. Through layered and often caustic narratives, he challenges meritocracy and the mechanisms of social order, exploring the tensions between desire and disillusionment, survival and resistance. Attentive to the contexts in which his projects unfold, he develops site- and time-specific narratives. The body, understood as an unstable presence and a site of negotiation, becomes a means of questioning the relationships between visibility, value, and recognition. His practice develops through situated and collective processes, encounters, and participatory experimentation, with attention to the material conditions of cultural work and the possibilities of care and sharing.
