Works

“Fireflies (cops and robbers)” is a participatory nighttime game that reinterprets a children’s game to explore power dynamics, class privilege, and the tension between individual safety and collective solidarity. Through two opposing teams, Spotlights and Fireflies, the game challenges participants to choose between reaching safety and helping those left behind. Presented through two fixed-shot videos, the work evokes a nocturnal landscape where bodies emerge and disappear into darkness, illuminated by fleeting flashes of light. Participants’ voices guide the viewer through an atmosphere that shifts between playfulness, suspense, and horror, transforming the game into a reflection on vulnerability, visibility, and the possibility of collective liberation.
