"Whistle and I will come to you" is a series of site-specific installations featuring burn marks and traces left on existing architectural surfaces. Firecrackers act as disruptive calls, producing explosions whose effects are registered across the floors and walls of the exhibition space. Their sound announces an event, while the resulting installation preserves only its material aftermath. Each explosion takes place in advance, without an audience. The work thus stages a melancholic détournement of the playful gesture, withholding its spectacular moment and leaving behind the residues of an event that can no longer be witnessed. The title evokes a promise of arrival in response to a call; yet, by the time the audience encounters the installation, the event has already passed. What remains is an indirect form of presence, suspended between expectation and absence. The work is presented as a kit containing instructions and video documentation, enabling its recreation in different contexts.
